New NES Game

Have yall heard about a certain NES game coming out in the near future?

Mega man 9

WTF? I thought the series was dead.
Ah well. It does look cool though. And I don’t like mega man >_>.

Not actually a NES game, but looks like one.

To be honest, megaman has never really interested me.

If they released it to the NES, it would probably boast some massive sales, there are still people out there who have NES’s, tons of them. And those who don’t it would also be available on the Virtual Console.

According to interview, it doesn’t just look like NES, but sounds, plays and runs on the same NES engine that the VC uses.

Here we go:

Why did you decide to adopt a retro look for the graphics rather than opt for upgraded visuals?

First off, we have a lot of fans who have wanted to play a new Mega Man game that was like the classic games, so we wanted to please them. Also with the current popularity of retro-gaming graphics on T-shirts and other paraphernalia, we thought the time was right to bring out an old-school game. We also went the extra mile in pushing the upper limits of what 8-bit graphics can do, and we wanted players to be able to see that. Ultimately, it was our hope to make the art style used in this game an accepted one.

What will the music be like? Are you also going for an 8-bit feeling with the sound?

Everything down to the music and sound effects is all 9-bit style. The composer is one of the staff members who worked on MMZ with Inti Creates, and someone who worked on music for NES games was also involved. They’re really staying true to the spirit of the 8-bit gaming era with this game.

What will the difficulty be like?

I don’t think we’ve held back on this one.

My hands hurt now.
