It’s debatable. It seems like every other source has a different outlook on rom legality. But either way, we’d prefer to stay away from dealing with it just in case.
And even if WE didn’t care, it’s agaist Invisionfree policy, and they’d shut the forum down if we allowed it.

If you knew that it did, then you’re in trouble.
But, if that’s not WHY you linked there, don’t worry about it.
Example: you link to a thread about meta ridley on another forum, and someone’s sig is “lol roms: ”

Meh, it’s pushing it, but it’s not your fault if someone happens to add a rom link after you link to it or something like that, yaknow? And if we banned for links that have links to roms, that kind of situation could come up, and that would be bad. On top of that, some sites that are extremely handy as reference or for midi downloads (coughCastlevaniaDungeoncough) may have roms on them, and I’ve been banned from other forums for linking to sites like that, and that really pissed me off and seemed quite unfair as I linked for perfectly innocent reasons. I don’t want to inflict that on others… so yeah.
Not cause I’m dying to post links to roms or anything but if it where not for the invisionfree policy would you allow rom links to metroid stuff and related roms, or would it be the same. ARE we allowed to do that in pm?
And while I’m at it, I think it would be helpful for the noobs if you merge ‘The Rules’ with ‘Rules about Warnings’ cause I’ve see people get nailed for advertizing
and they say “WHAT!” and get nailed for not reading the rules which they did but not the rules about warnings. Correct me if I’m wrong but I found nothing about advertizing in ‘The Rules’ (At least the first post that is), just in rules about warnings which is easy to pass over without a second thought.
You can do whatever you want in your pm’s, linking to roms, warez, pr0n, … We can’t check pm’s anyway.

…meh, i feel safe enough (besides the fact that i dont send out porn to anyone ever ), there are far more reasons not to look into a pm than there are reason to do so. also, when warning levels go down, is it at a set limit (10 % per month or something) or is it based on personal progress towards evolving into something similar to a civilized, and respectful human?

Your warnings are reset after a month of good behavior, to 0.
In other words, warnings are only reset if you didn’t have any warnings for a month after your last warning (Kinda redundant, since it’s impossible to have any warnings after your last one, but whatever)
However, if we’re slow with taking down your warning level, that’s just tough luck for you, I guess…
I’ll try not to let it extend too far, though. It’s just something you’ve gotta remember to check every couple of weeks, though.
