EXE7 project in need of new members!

Some of you may already know about the fangame Rockman.EXE7 going on, in an effort to at least wrap up the loose ends Capcom left us with. But it seems we’ve hit an unfortunate low: if the team doesn’t get more help, and relatively soon, the project is closing. Here’s the scoop.

Everyone is encouraged to try and invite others to join the project. This includes people from other websites; in fact, Yawgy stresses the importance of spreading the message to other forums and sites. It doesn’t matter where they’re from or what they do after it’s over; if they are competent, willing, and able to put the time and effort into being worthwhile memebers, then they are wanted on the team.

“The positions we are looking for are as follows: Spriter, Chip Artist, Area Layout/Developer, GameMaker Programmer, and Concept Developlment.”

Spriters will be making sprites of characters, virii, objects, and backgrounds/areas. If you (or anyone else) wants to apply, write down what you are best in, what you want to work on, and if there’s anything you absolutely do not want to do. As many people will be accepted as needed. This isn’t a contest, so don’t worry about competition. As long as you provide decent work, you’re in.

Chip Artists will be doing the little pictures that go on the chips. They are looking for at least 2 people for this position. Again, there is no upper limit, so as long as you can do the work and do it well, you’ll probably get accepted.

Area Layout/Developers will be designing and laying out the internet, real life, and various structures in the game. They need to be able to organize the layout so that it works (Charkie note: I suppose he means here that the layouts should not be confusing or overly complex). He wanted me to specifically mention a few things about this as well. The first is that they “are doing a ‘Square-oriented internet’ rather than one centered around homepages.” The rest I will quote from his message:

“If there are people that can only lay out and can’t draw, tell them to put their names in the hat, I’ll hire you even if you can only do one small thing, so long as what you do is good.The same thing goes if they can draw models for it or sprite for it. Please make note that if someone specializes in buildings and area, that they should make note of it, as that will distinguish you from the other spriters.”

Programmers need to be familiar with the GameMaker programming system. No one here will teach you or train you; you have to know what you’re doing. They’ll take as many as they can get. (Charkie note: Just to expound a bit, HOLY MOSES. I cannot stress enough that PROGRAMMERS ARE IMPORTANT. I can’t tell you how many game projects and mods I’ve seen on other sites die because of a lack of programmers. If you’re going to try and get people to join up like Yawgy asked, then for the sake of the project, TRY AND FIND PROGRAMMERS.)

Concept Development consists of creating Chips, Armor, Virii, and other gameplay elements. Specify which area you want to be working in.

I’m sure we’ve got at least a few EXE fans here in P2D, so why not see what you can do? The spirit of EXE needs your help.

This isn’t the sort of question I usually respond to, but actually, the reason my forums won’t let you sign up is because I am pure evil. That’s right, the check box “thing” (I couldn’t think of the word either!) is just bugging the hell out of you to spite you.

I actually had the idea before I knew where I was gonna post it, and then I was bored, so I did it in the first place I could (the color thing).
