Remove what?

There are some word filters that change things like “I lo l’d” into “That wasn’t funny” I think, not sure since I never say things like that.

when you abbreviate I laughed out loud it turns into ‘that wasn’t funny’

Zebes. Let’s make it happen. I vote 64 or 128 textures, maybe both.

Minetroid, here we come.

We should do 64. 128 is way too big-

64 is much more manageable-

Let’s go with that.

Now how should we cover areas?

I think it should be based more on the Super Metroid landing zone. It’s distinctly alien, while not the very distracting blue of Brinstar.

Opinions?

Uh, the blue is Crateria. >_> At any rate, again, that’ll be generic. If we want a distinctly Metroid texture set, we need to base it on an alien area from Metroid, not an area that could fit in any game. Nothing about Crateria screams “alien planet” or “Metroid.” If we go Zebes, we should do crazy things like the Norfair bubble-walls, the Brinstar vines, etc. What’s the point of basing it on another planet if we’re just using textures from areas similar to Earth’s?

Well it kinda says alien, I mean it’s quite rocky and its freakin’ blue.

Daz has a point though. Blue rocky planets are in more than just one game. Such as Any Star Wars game, or Mass Effect, or any game that takes place in space really. You guys would need to do something much more recognizable to someone who knows the series, if the files didn’t have names.

Crateria is Purple, not blue.

The thing about going ‘out there’ with, say, the bubbles of Norfair is that it could quickly become an eyesore.

Should we use them? Most definitely, however we should make them lower down. Obsidian and resource blocks could be the real crazy stuff.

Anyone wanna explain minecraft to me? Never played it.

Destroy anything, build anything. Oh, and survive.

First-person Lego survival horror/sim/adventure/RPG.

Harvest materials, build tools and appliances and shit, fight monsters, build mine tracks/rollercoasters, farm… Kinda crazy, really. Every single block in the world can be harvested and reused in some way.

'Cept bedrock.

Here is my conversion plan:
Dirt/Grass = Crateria purple stuff.
Sand = the quicksand from Maridia
Plants = Green Brinstar
Rock/gravel = Norfair stones
Obsidian = the orb thingies
Ores = Undecided

Mobs
Zombies = Metroids (make the most sense, imo, as they eat flesh :stuck_out_tongue:)
Skeles = Space Pirates
Creepers = undetermined, potentially puffers?

So. Rethought.

Overworld=Green Brinstar
Nether=Norfair.

I think we could do some cool stuff with this. (eye blocks for glowstone?)

As with the post you made in the other thread, I think it’s a good idea. I can try doing some textures I guess. What program should I use? Paint? And what Res are you going for?

Niceeeee. Now all you need to do is take a bucket of water, and make a waterfall coming off that Island over there. I need some good seeds for nice maps. Suggestions?

Update:

Does anyone know any good servers with no cheats mods or hax?

Got bored of waiting and made my own.

Here you go. Super Metroid texturepack. About 60% done, welcoming any and all C+C.

2 different kinds of torches?

It looks nice btw.

I’m into more of the HD looking texture packs ATM though, but it definately reminds me of Metroid. I really like how you used that one glowy creature thing for the torches in the first 2 screenshots. Too bad they don’t move around. :stuck_out_tongue:
