wut?

Hmmmmm…

xD
i lol’d
(dont take offense, recker, its all in good fun)

anywaaaay

idk if i said this already
but my family
worst people ever
ok not worst, but they suck
they call themselves good people
then go and bash anyone who doesnt agree with them as dinner conversation
(gays, other religions, transgendered people, anyone that doesnt agree with them or have the same ideals and such)

basically
theyre assholes!

probably one of the reasons i am an atheist
my “christian” family being horrible people to EVERYONE
some of which are my friends
and yes i have transgender friends
so everyday i’d hear this constant babble about how other peopel werent as good as they are because they follow god and shit
so i guess i thought
“well if this god tells you to hate everyone for not being like you then fuck him!”

thats my guess on my own atheism O.o

I became an atheist because, well…

Religious talk scares me.

People who talk about God being this kind guy and then immediately saying that somebody’s gonna burn in hell 'cause God doesn’t like their lifestyle. That shit scares me.

Sometimes they sound like fanatics to me. Like, blow up somebody’s house kind of fanatics.

So yeah, that’s why I’m an atheist. That and God seems like a real dick the way that Christianity portrays him.

One of my favorite quotes is “I believe there is a God, I just don’t think he’s as big of a dick as you guys make him out to be.”

So I’m not really an atheist, more…agnostic. In some form.

I think I already said this in the topic somewhere lol. But yeah, I tend to refrain from labeling myself as one individual group due to the idea that most, if not all, groups have some negative connotation to them somewhere.

I think I’ve said this already, but religion and theism are not the same thing. Saying things like “I believe there is no god because some people who believe in a god scare me” makes no sense…

also ive seen absolutely no proof of a god
or any sort of righteous force
too much horrible stuff in the world for that!

and i knew someone who needed some sort of risky surgery (i cant remember what)
and when it worked they were like “thank god!”

im pretty sure the surgeons that had years of schooling and practice and such had absolutely NO effect on the outcome of his surgery coughcough <_<

It’s a figure of speech… >_>

he went on and on about how god saved him
it wasnt just a figure of speech to him

Oh, okay, nevermind then.

I actually do wonder how surgeons feel when patients act like that afterward.

However there are people I know who have had Cancer litteraly dissapear without medical help. Now that could happen, but really?

I like what 072 said.

That’s a good way of saying it, for me especially. I’m theistic, not religious.

Thanks, 072.

Yeah, Zurg is right. While I’ve never seen it personally, my sister and mom saw an event like that. I mean, I don’t mean to be rude, but unless you see it for yourself, it just seems fake. For the longest time, I didn’t believe in that kind of healing power. I’m not sure if I do now or not.

Again, it’s one of those things where seeing is believing.

Kinda like ghosts and hauntings, IMO.

ghosts and hauntings ive seen

proof of god, not so much

I would consider those to be the same, because a ghost is a “proof” of an immortal soul and an afterlife, things I simply cannot, will not, accept.

and some people have better immune systems that actually reject the cancer cells, or if you want to believe in that ridiculous “theory” of the secret then there’s that explanation too.

although unless he comes down and says “hi” there will never be a god for me

i see ghosts as a consciousness trapped without a body from a strong connection to the living or world around them before they died

I see ghosts the way most ghost “specialists” describe them. They’re probably souls who have unfinished business in this world, and go through their regular routines in an attempt to finish that business. And that business can vary to an amazing degree.

For example: One ghost could, say, perhaps be trying to save a company he created in the 1800’s from failing today while another ghost is trying to get people to discover their murder and catch the perpetrator.

Now, I’ve never witnessed either of those situations, but you get the idea. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have witnessed supernatural phenomena, however. I’m just not sure if it could be considered “ghostly” or not.

I’ve seen and experienced supernatural things before. Medical miracles, Medical impossibilities happening, ect. I’ve seen it happen, and it’s happened to me before. Like when you think you luck couldn’t get any better, things just seem to work out perfectly, I attribute that to God, a higher power.

Many people do that, and for good reason. It definitely makes you question things, and turn to faith for the answer. And I don’t mean that negatively. That’s a good place to search.

But I dunno. I’ve seen some supernatural stuff that could be considered ghosts/hauntings, and to be honest, that was when my faith was shaken the most, to the point of me renouncing my christian faith.

I can definitely see how that sort of thing can make you swing the other way, though. In fact, I’m pretty sure I did something that wasn’t the norm when dealing with your faith in a supernatural situation. From what I’ve heard, most people then embrace their faith rather than renounce it.

But then again, I’m a 16 year-old kid who is more than likely just trying to stick it to society. :stuck_out_tongue:
