OS "Discussion"

So by changing settings you can almost make it as good as the previous version, only different-looking? Wow, that was definitely worth an upgrade.

Bitch.
It’s worth an upgrade for superfetch alone, never mind anything else.
Of course, there is plenty more. :stuck_out_tongue:

what do you mean upgrade? Vista and XP cost the EXACT

Unless you already have XP, in which case you have to pay to upgrade.

Actually, at I Buy Power, XP is like $50 more than Vista Home Premium.
Go figure.

Just wondering, has any of ya’ll heard of ‘vista smoker’?
Supposedly, it lets you customize vista, by using anything you want to in it, but also allows compatibility with everything, all the way back to Win 95.

That’s such an enormous generalization, that I’m 99% sure that wherever you heard it from it is a liar.

Vista
(spoken) Dearest, darlingest Billy and Balmsicle

XP
(spoken) My dear father

BOTH
There’s been some confusion
Over running in this biz.

XP
But of Course I’ll load much faster.

Vista
But Of course I’ll rise above it

BOTH
'Cause I know that’s how you’d want me to respond, yes
There’s been some confusion for you see my part-mate is

Vista
Unusually and exceedingly peculiar
and altogether quite impossible to describe

XP
(spoken) Conned

Vista
What is this feeling so sudden and new

XP
I felt the moment I detected you

Vista
My CPUs rushing

XP
My ROM is reeling

Vista
My datas flushing

BOTH
What is this feeling
Fervid as a flame
Does it have a name
Yeee-es

Loathing, unadulterated loathing

Vista
For your space

XP
Your choice

Vista
Your bolting

BOTH
Let’s just say, I loathe it all
Every little trait however small
Makes my very mesh begin to crawl
With simple utter loathing
There’s such strange exhilaration
In such total detestation
It’s so pure, so strong
Though I do admit it came on fast
Still I do believe that it can last
And I will be loathing
Loathing you
My whole life long!

USERS
Dear XP you are just too good
How do you stand it I don’t think I could
She’s a terror she’s a tartar
We don’t mean to show a bias
But XP you’re a martyr

XP
Well, these things are sent to try us

USERS
Poor XP forced to reside
With someone so disgustifified
We want to tell you
We’re all on your side!!

We share your loathing (Both: What is this feeling so sudden and new)

Vista

Quite honestly, I think I’m going to stick with XP until it is mostly obsolete. Its too pricey to go computer shopping right now, and Vista will get better when new service packs are released, and until Microsoft has relaxed on pushing updates for Vista, I can safely say XP is still good to have.

Microsoft’s already announced another operating system. I don’t think they’re going to bother with service packs.
Also, what the bloody hell.

Zurg, that’s called conning people into paying for a front-end to the compatibility wizard.
@Tim, XP SP3 came out after Vista, so you’re wrong

There’s a SP3?
<.<

<_<
Uh huh. Check windows update.

I have that junk turned off. Piratededededd.

Oh.
Oh… Yeah, an OS is the one thing I would never pirate :stuck_out_tongue:

an OS is the one thing I would without fail if I had no extra cash laying around <_<
Every time I get a computer, I need an OS NOW and don’t have it, but I also want the hardware NOW, not $100+ later…

Also, no, I believe XP Pro was the $100 OS in the target near here… could be wrong… but the cheapest Vista is $150 and the next bump is $200ish.
Toooooooooo much moneeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy…
that’s 1/3ish to 1/2ish the price of my whole computer.

(Agh, wtf. I just realized I totally could’ve used the product key stickered on to that stupid stupid Dell we never use. Stupid.)

This OS discussion is pretty one-faced. Any Mac users in here?

Yeah, we’ve got one.
He hates it :stuck_out_tongue:

My feelings on OS X are basicly that it’s pretty, but ultimately doesn’t have the software to support itself.

I am a mac user.
It SUCKS BALLS.
Its purty. But…
Nothing works. It has glitches all the time. The mouse tracks slow as hell on its highest setting, the buttons don’t click right, it feels horrible. it only has 3 spare USB ports. It has PS/2 mouse capability, but no PS/2 port.

“It has PS/2 mouse capability, but no PS/2 port.” I lol’d.

I lol’d with Tim. Love it. Simply love it.

Anyway, to contribute to the discussion, I would get Vista if I had the money and knew my CPU could handle the deluxe edition. Unfortunately, I don’t have either of those right now.

But for now, XP will do. But yes, I do want Vista, if only for the reason that it’s the next step in Microsoft’s line of OSs.

But if there’s another OS coming out soon, then I’ll just wait for that to come out.

I think the word was “by the end of the year”, but it might have been next year.
